How Do You Define Insanity?
Insanity has been defined as doing something over and over again and each time expecting different results.
So, when govt. enacts a program, regulation or law intended to fix a specific problem, not only does it fail to accomplish it's stated goals but also comes with it's own untintended consequences. These are sometimes worse than the original problem.
Govt. then will enact another, larger set of programs, regulations and laws intended to fix the problems caused by the first program, not only does it fail, but again comes with more problems of it's own.
The snowball effect I've described has been building for the last 150 years in this country. This being evident, do those clamoring for the govt. to fix the problems it itself caused constitute insantiy?
The purpose of life is not to be in the majority, but to avoid finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. - Marcus Aerelius
