New Hampshire Activism
Already highly liberty-oriented before the Free State Project was formed, New Hampshire is a great place to defend and regain freedom. Watch for yourself how FSP early-movers are Finding Life and Liberty in the Free State Project. If you are an event organizer for a pro-liberty organization, consider holding your event in New Hampshire.
Below are some of the groups and efforts underway in New Hampshire today.
General Pro-Liberty Organizations
The New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (NHLA) is a non-partisan coalition working to increase individual freedom in New Hampshire. The NHLA encourages private charity, civil society, and citizen involvement. They also support pro-liberty candidates and causes with money and volunteers. Founded by a group of New Hampshire freedom activists and office holders, the NHLA produces an annual Liberty Rating, a report card on all our Representatives. They also aim to screen every new bill before legislature for its stance and impact on freedom, something not done in any other legislative body in the world.
The New Hampshire Underground attracts liberty-loving activists with a bent towards civil disobedience.
Political Parties
The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire, like the national Libertarian Party, seeks to restore governance of our nation to the people. They promote:
• freedom and independence
• American's heritage of liberty and personal responsibility
• a caring, people-centered approach to politics
• logical, consistent, principled politics
• personal tolerance - a "Live and Let Live" approach
The Republican Liberty Caucus of New Hampshire (RLCNH) works to advance the principles of limited government, individual liberty and free markets within the Republican Party and throughout America. Our focus is on a broad range of issues, including education, taxation, property rights, gun rights, free speech, federalism and the proper role of government. While rolling back decades of government "nannyism" will require a great deal of public education and grassroots lobbying, the most important means of changing public policy is to change public officials. Therefore, the Republican Liberty Caucus works to elect pro-liberty Republicans to offices at all levels, partisan and non-partisan, in both primary and general elections.
Issue-Specific Organizations
The Coalition of New Hampshire Taxpayers (CNHT) is the largest (and only) statewide taxpayer organization in New Hampshire. CNHT monitors activities in New Hampshire's towns and cities as well as the capitol and keeping Granite State citizen's informed and advised is a big part of what they do. One major component of their communication network is the New Hampshire Taxpayer Radio, a weekly two-hour non-commercial radio show. The program is broadcast every Thursday except holidays from 5-8pm on WLMW 90.7FM. Additionally CNHT produces eBlasts which are infrequent but meaty summations of all that is going on around the state of New Hampshire with lots of insider buzz. Also, twice yearly, the CNHT produces a newspaper called The Taxing Times! Their chairman writes a column at http://www.nhinsider.com. Their webmaster also maintains the NH Liberty Calendar, a public calendar where all groups CNHT works with can come together to post social events, moving parties, or political meetings.
