Free State Project's 2010 Moneybomb: Celebrating the 237th Anniversary of the Boston Tea Party
Can the Free State Project Raise $30,000 by the Boston Tea Party's Anniversary?
|
"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds. |
Celebrate the Boston Tea Party!
On December 16, 1773, American colonists had enough of the British Crown's taxes. In the middle of the night, colonists boarded British ships and dumped their cargo into the harbor. And for 237 years, the Boston Tea Party has been a symbolic act of defiance against a seemingly invincible empire.
When was the last time you celebrated your heritage with your own little act of rebellion? When you support Free State Project, you support the FSP's ongoing mission to move 20,000 freedom-loving activists to New Hampshire to work for smaller, limited government. Just click the ChipIn widget above to pledge your support.
The Free State Project Continues to Grow
The Free State Project continues to grow. In 2010, we reached over 10,000 participants--halfway to our original goal--and we're now zeroing in on 1,000 "official" movers. (Hundreds more are already here but haven't updated their information! --Update your contact info!) The movers that have already arrived have shown what a tireless, irate minority can do when our numbers and efforts are concentrated in New Hampshire.
And locals continue to welcome FSP participants. In 2006, a single FSP participant was elected to the New Hampshire legislature. In 2008, four participants were elected. This year, [b]New Hampshire citizens elected 12 participants to represent the people in the statute legislature--along with over 35 other vocal pro-liberty candidates, and scores of other liberty supporters. Can you say this about your home state? (--Then what are you waiting for? Move here!)
Your Donation Is Critical to Our Success
To keep up this steam, the Free State Project needs your help to find more participants and to publicize all the things that make New Hampshire a great play to live, work, and play. After nearly 10 years, the FSP is still operating on a shoe-string budget and it requires a small platoon of volunteers. Neither executive staff nor our Board of Directors receive a salary. We're still quite tiny and nimble--just like government should be.
But running the Free State Project isn't cost-free. Advertising our message by print, radio, and Internet adds up quickly. Attending rallies and events, printing costs, and holding our own annual events, such as Liberty Forum and PorcFest, aren't cheap either. How do we do all this? Donors and supporters like you make it all happen.
Tea Party Money Bomb: $30,000 on December 16.
We want to raise $30,000 before the end of this year. We have certain expenses and advertising campaigns we want to start right away--but we need funds to do it. With the past elections and the worsening economy, this is a prime time for finding people who are just fed up with Business-As-Usual, want to do something about it, and have the guts to Make the Move.
Ever dollar is appreciated. No donation is too small. $5, $25, $100? Whatever you can spare, we would much appreciate any support you can give. To make your donation, just click the ChipIn widget at the top of this page or visit freestateproject.org/donate.
TANSTAAFL: We'd like to thank our donors...
Last time we did a fundraiser, we offered commemorative FSP silver rounds to donors who could dig deep enough. The feedback from the FSP community was overwhelmingly positive. Why not do it again?
For a donation of $125, we will send you a 1 oz. silver round. [pic]
Yes, that's a bit higher than last time (in fairness, silver prices have gone up). But we realize that might be a bit too steep for some people who really want to support us (and we love you!) but just can't squeeze that cash out of their budget.
So, for each donation of $40, as a token of appreciation from the Free State Project, we will send you a 1 oz. copper round.
(Warning: these rounds always generate a lot of interest. We may run out, and then have to wait for the next batch to be minted. Therefore, unfortunately, we can't guarantee delivery before Christmas. But we will get each one delivered as soon as we feasibly can!)
While You Can't Dump Crates of British Tea in Boston Harbor...
You can still do something to celebrate the ever-diminishing culture of liberty in America. Please donate to the Free State Project today to help us bring 20,000 liberty-loving people to New Hampshire.
Until freedom reigns,
B.D. Ross
Director of Development
