Thank You FSP
Now that I am settled in my new home and am adjusting to the many changes I’ve been handed, I wanted to take the time to say thank you to each and every one of you. I know that all of you have busy lives and yet, so many people came to help in so many ways. All of you have given time, money, effort and your love completely selflessly, some of you didn’t even know me previously - and yet all of you took time out of your busy lives to help me with mine. At times, there were more offers of help than I knew what to do with, letting me know that I am surrounded by people who are generous of heart.
I know that by making a list, I will inadvertently leave something or someone off of the list, but it’s important to me that this, perhaps the first test of our community pulling together to do what we are often told cannot be done by anyone other than government agents, be documented. So, thank you to all of the Porcupines who came to visit me, who brought food, who just picked up the vacuum and took out the trash. Thank you to the Porcupines who drove me to this appointment, that job, the other outing. Thank you to all who attended the Common Man benefit, 95% of whom were Porcupines. Thank you to the Porcupines who helped me move, repeatedly, and those who have volunteered to help with the renovation of the house so that it can be sold. Thank you to all the Porcupines who were patient with me, who stayed in touch with me waiting for me to figure out what I needed help with next. Thank you to all the Porcupines who donated to the benefit and chip-in, being unable to work for a time is a huge financial problem and being gifted with so much generosity has allowed me to heal and adjust without also having to worry about rent for a while.
Seven years ago, when I made the decision to be an early mover with the Free State Project, I was hoping to be on the ground floor of a new community, one that would exist to make liberty a reality in our lifetime, but one which would also show by its actions that government intervention in all aspects of our lives is really unnecessary and not even effective. This is not how I imagined that goal would play out, but the actions, responses and continued support of my fellow Porcupines is more than I had dreamed would be possible in so short a time.
Thank you, Chris Lopez
