NH Election Results -- More Free Staters Elected!
Our influence in New Hampshire politics continues to grow by leaps and bounds. While in 2006 only one early-moving Free-Stater was elected to the NH House of Representatives, in 2008 that individual was joined by 3 more pioneers. That's right, we now have 4 FSP Pioneers in the State Legislature!
These four individuals are a diverse group: a Democrat, 3 Republicans; two men, and two women. Two of them have served on the Board of Directors of the NH Liberty Alliance; another is the NH coordinator for the 2nd Amendment Sisters; another is an activist with privacy group NH CASPIAN. These four Free State Pioneers are joined by another four Friends of the Free State Project -- legislators who signed on as Friends after learning about the FSP and meeting us, or who joined the FSP before New Hampshire was chosen as the target state. Moreover, recounts are currently underway, and at least 1 more FSP Pioneer has a decent chance of winning in the recount. Good luck!
Meanwhile, the NH Liberty Alliance endorsed 154 candidates for NH State Representative. Of these, a whopping 98 won! These people are all "upper-quadrant Nolan Chart" folks; they either scored above 80% in Nolan-style questionnaires, or have consistently voted pro-liberty on economic and personal freedoms during their prior times in office.
Congratulations, and thank you to the many liberty-lovers elected to the New Hampshire legislature!

Liberty, or lack of it, in Massachusetts
While the Free State Project elected 4 of its members to the New Hampshire House of Representatives, liberty did not do so well in other states. In Massachusetts, voters voted overwhelmingly to keep their state income tax. It must be lonely being a libertarian in Massachusetts so we decided to reach out to them with an advertisement. You can donate and view the advertisement at fsp.chipin.com. Donations will go straight to the advertising campaign operated by Seth H, who is posting daily updates to the FSP Forum.
Action of the Month Nov 08 - Universal Porrcerage
The votes have been cast, the ballots counted, the plebiscite ended. The "great quadrennial" has resulted in a change of administration. The yeas and nays of the franchise give way to the "Yeahs!" and "Noooos!" of the varying electorates. Whether the poll went the way you wanted, or the tally played tattoo on your sense of civic virtue - it is done. Another set of thieves have won the auction for our stolen goods. The power heaped upon the previous tenant will be passed to, and no doubt expanded upon, the next. So ask for a show of hands and tell those that feel the assault on our freedoms that there is hope. Have them exercise their suffrage and let them know there is hope in New Hampshire with the Free State Project. Those who hear the "whisper of the porc" will respond. Voting with our feet is a concrete, positive move towards liberty. If your friends, neighbors, coworkers, and occasional strangers on the street are all tapped out, consider making a donation to the FaceBook advertising project to help us all get Liberty in Our Lifetime.
Merchandise
Let's see, FSP merchandise and the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Hmmmm, maybe t-shirts can be used for potholders. Liberty Forum DVDs as those "protect your table from hot pots" things (I can never remember the name of those). How about 'fridge magnets spelling out the time the feast will be ready? Pocket Constitutions to read while you're waiting for the gravy to thicken. Logo pins to keep the napkin firmly under your chin (not like you'd slop or anything). Key chains to attach to pot lids (you know how you hate burning your fingers on those things). FSP Ultimate flying discs make great plates and serving platters. Cute, stuffed, plushie porcs are sure to make a fantastic center-piece. And let's not forget FSP bumper-stickers to cover up the charred area around the oven (mistakes do happen you know). Obviously there are plenty of non-standard uses for the quality FSP merchandise available on the web site. Please remember though, the main purpose of these items is to advertise Liberty in Our Lifetime and to keep freedom and New Hampshire close to mind and heart.
New Pilgrim Chronicles
On November 9, 2008, Free State member and early mover Brian Wright released the second edition of New Pilgrim Chronicles, "his personal travelogue turned into a book about why people are coming to the Free State of New Hampshire for more freedom and to improve the quality of their lives." Brian tells us, "This is really an extensive rewrite. I took out all the 'rant.' I wanted to produce a more readable and usable literary companion for those who are considering making the trip here... whether for freedom or for the social reasons."
The Free State Project is an effort
to recruit 20,000 liberty-loving people to move to New Hampshire. We
are looking for neighborly, productive, tolerant folks from all walks
of life, of all ages, creeds, and colors who agree to the political
philosophy expressed in our Statement of Intent, that government
exists at most to protect people's rights, and should neither provide
for people nor punish them for activities that interfere with no one
else. freestateproject.org
