Dr. Mary Ruwart Endorses the Free State Project

Dr. Mary Ruwart, a libertarian speaker, writer, activist, leading candidate for the 2008 Libertarian Party presidential nomination, and author of the bestselling 1992 book Healing Our World: The Other Piece of the Puzzle recently commented on the Free State Project, stating "While not called to move there yet, I think it's a great thing...I think it's a wonderful thing that's happening." NH #1 in Child Well-Being

The Annie E. Casey Foundation's 2010 Kids Count ranked New Hampshire in overall child well-being. This is the 3rd year NH received top ranking. Learn more here.

2nd Best Job Growth in the Country

According to the US Labor Department, New Hampshire experienced job growth of 1.43% between June 2009 and June 2010, which resulted in 8,900 new jobs. Nationally, the number of jobs fell by .1%. Read more here.

Liberty on Tour

Pete Eyre and Adam Mueller are heading across the country from NH in what they are calling "Liberty on Tour" to network and spread both information and energy for the FSP and several pro-liberty organizations. If you are near one of their destination cities, plan to meet up with them and/or let them know what stories, people, and places they should cover on their visit.

Silver Circle — funding for a FSP-friendly film

Lineplot Productions is working on a film that, in their own words, "balances economics, romance, rebels, and explosions." They need a few thousand dollars of funding to move forward with the project, and so are asking for donations via Kickstarter. If the project sounds like something worthwhile, go ahead and make a pledge. You won't have to pay unless enough money gets pledged to move the project forward.

The crowd roared, the bell sounded "ding-ding", and my trainer pushed hard against my back. His raspy voice prodding me into the ring, a "Go get 'em tiger!" nearly drowned by the shouts of a million oppressed throats screaming for action. I lifted my hands and took a defensive stance, a Life Free or Die sticker like a belt buckle on my silky shorts. My opponent, glistening with the exertion of the last three rounds came at me. I easily dodged his "for the children", blocked his crossing "progressive inevitability" and ducked a weak roundhouse straw man. I could tell he was tiring, his "society demands..." came in from the left with no real power. Even the expected ad hominem hooks were slowing down and fading out. I dancing easily around his "social contract" while he tried to pepper me with inefficient jabs using mercantilist corporations being painted as capitalists. A bolo of bolshevism and a failed liver punch of "genetic guilt" and that was it. I could hear the raspy voice again, this time louder and it was saying "Finish him, finish him!" I pulled my right glove back in time a few years and came forward with an Enron to my unworthy opponent's jaw. He stumbled back, eyes glazed more than normal. I pressed the attack and gave him a good "human action" to the gut. I heard the sound of escaping breath and a painful moan. His knees were getting shaky and I knew he was about to go down. But how to finish him off? Personal protection with firearms statistics? A thorough thrashing with the tragedy of the commons seemed cruel at this point. Maybe a gusty exposition on the non-aggression principle would blow him over. No, that would be too good for him. For a guy like this who led with eco-warrior pleadings and neo-luddism attacks, he would have to be put down and put down hard so the crowd would know - I'd be cheating them otherwise. I feinted to the right and then let him have it. All he could see was the FSP logo magnet rocketing towards his face on the front of my glove. Before his legs could buckle beneath him I applied a strenuous uppercut with the FSP pin proudly showing towards the crowd. They cheered in response. I flexed the muscles bulging beneath my PorcFest 2010 tee shirt and landed a right cross wrapped in a Don't Tread on Me Porcupine flag. He was on the ropes now. "How appropriate," I thought. Like the ropes that he would have used to bind all mankind, bind them, us, until we were nothing more than human insects, slaving and struggling for nothing other than the stasis of constancy. These ropes were holding him up now giving me another chance to knock him down. He tottered into the middle of the ring, blood and sweat running down his face. Not the blood of a brave man fighting for truth and freedom and not the sweat of an honest day's labor, but the blood of a coward sacrificing others for a mythical whole and the sweat of one who's basic tenets are crashing down around him. It was time to end it, past time. I paused briefly to make sure the Free State Project's Statement of Intent was clearly showing from the Gadsden-style tee shirt wrapped tightly around my left glove. Full in the face was how he took it. He went rigid, slowly swaying in place. I glanced over to my corner, my trainer's gravely voice joining the rest of the throng, and then a wink. I moved closer to my opponent; I could smell centuries of oppression and the deaths of millions coming from every pore in his body. I put my mouth to his ear, took a breath and said, "Yours is over - it's time for Liberty in Our Lifetime." His eyes rolled up and he collapsed like a gutted, deboned fish. The crowd erupted in ovation, my trainer Murray beamed with joy. It was a good day to move to New Hampshire.

The work of creating and sustaining such a society in New Hampshire is the job of residents, including project participants, not the Free State Project itself.

The FSP does not endorse any specific changes to government or strategies to achieve them. The FSP does not take positions on issues, candidates, legislation, places to move within New Hampshire, tactics or methods of action.
