The Liberty Forum 2008 - 'Moving Liberty Forward' is now scheduled! It will be held January 3 - 6, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, New Hampshire. This may seem like a strange time to have the Liberty Forum, but remember this is New Hampshire, home of the nation's first primary and we have special plans for that...(tba)..
Ever wanted to help coordinate PorcFest? Well, here's your chance! We need a co-Coordinator for PorcFest 2008 to help backstop Rich Goldman, who has generously volunteered to head things up again for next year as Coordinator. Duties would include writing PR blurbs, coordinating the events calendar, and possibly being the liaison with GunstockAcres.com, hired to assist us with local NH outreach and exposure. Being a NH resident isn't a requirement, but it's definitely a plus, as are good writing skills.
Are you a social butterfly? Like to attend events that would interest Free Staters or beg for FSP representation? We're looking for you! We are seeking an Events Coordinator to develop new opportunities and coordinate with us for FSP publicity and presence at existing venues whose audiences coincide with FSP's. The job description includes:

What kind of events could we use your help coordinating? How about the Big E as a great example? We would provide information on prior and existing venues, and help with volunteer coverage.
Have you been a natural contact for potential volunteers, a nexus online or in your community? We could really use your help!
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to answer occasional email inquiries, point potential volunteers to the right FSP person, and revive the weekly volunteer teleconference and gab session. Duties include:
We have the details and organizational support to get you going, and are in the process of updating the Organization Chart and volunteer contacts to make things easier for you. It's up to you, but if you're good at this, you could develop the role to lead the Doers Meeting at PorcFest every year, and certainly be the liaison to FSP management concerning volunteer needs, goals and ideas.
If you're interested or have questions about the positions above, please email our VP of Ops (and current de facto Volunteer Coordinator) Lynn Pina. Come and have a good time, and use your people skills for the FSP's benefit by taking on one of the above roles and making it your own! And, if the above jobs don't appeal to you, just let us know what you'd like to contribute - all are welcome.
Action of the Month - Make your mark, with a Bookmark. The wonderful bookmarks designed by Jon Maltz are great for at least two reasons. One, they work very well as a place-marker in any book or magazine you're reading. It's very simple, you just place this thin, but sturdy, piece of laminated paper between the pages where you stopped reading and close the book. When you're ready to start reading again the bookmark is in-between the pages you were reading last! Amazing, pure genius! (It's OK, you can laugh now) There's no end to the remarkable abilities of these wonderful items. These bookmarks actually have writing on them, also. Starting off with "Join the Second American Revolution" and ending with "We look forward to welcoming you home" these bookmarks are also great for advertising and recruiting (reason #2).
Visiting your local tax-funded library and inserting them in books by Rand, Heinlein, any of the founding fathers or other books as appropriate, may bring home another liberty-minded person to the Free State of New Hampshire. Some may consider the local bookstore instead, but there are private property issues to consider, so please act as the moral agents we know you all are. For ideas on books to make your mark with, see this forum topic. - Phil Denisch (PD)
Free State Match - Congratulations to Art Curtis! - Winner of the FSM#2. He'll be receiving a gift certificate as well as a small, silly prize for beating my score <grumble, grumble>. Join us in The Great Donkaphant Hunt of 2007 (Targets to be received by October 10) - A great hunt is afoot! Be sure to arm yourself appropriately for this most dangerous of seasons. Don the Helm of Lucidity to keep your head clear while the candidates attempt to pour an endless stream of banality into your brain. Be ready with the Crystalline Shovel to keep your path clear of equine excrement and pachyderm poop. Don't leave home without your Wallet of Peril to keep out the grasping hands of political operatives. And last, but not least, go forth with the Shootin' Vest of Alacrity to keep your spirits high in the dark times ahead. See Free State Match details. - PD
