If you have moved to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project, please take a moment to complete this survey before November 25th.
We recently sent this survey via an email to all known movers. If you did not receive that email, we may have lost contact with you, or, may not know that you moved. No need to do anything if you already responded to that email.
Once the survey data has been processed, a mover number will be assigned to you, and you will receive a message from us with your number in the coming weeks.
Once this step has been completed, mover numbers will be automatically assigned going forward. New movers will receive their mover number when they update their status to “moved” online.
Your mover number is a reflection of your commitment to more Liberty in Our Lifetime. The lower your number, the bigger your bragging rights! Whether you are one of the First 1,000 Movers, the next 1,000, or even one of the final movers, you are making history!
The Free State Project, a mass migration movement to concentrate 20,000 liberty activists in New Hampshire is advancing to the finish line with more than 15,000 participants now signed up, with thousands moving ahead of schedule.
October 25, 2013 – Manchester, NH – Today, the Free State Project announced that 15,000 participants have now signed up to move to New Hampshire for more liberty. This mass migration movement aims to concentrate 20,000 liberty activists in the Live Free or Die state. At the current rate of sign-ups, the organization anticipates it will “Trigger the Move” in 2015, three years ahead of schedule.
“Reaching 75% of our goal is a major milestone,” said FSP president, Carla Gericke. “I attribute the acceleration in sign ups to things like the NSA surveillance scandal, the TSA, the NDAA, the PATRIOT Act, Obamacare, unconstitutional gun control legislation, and the unwarranted wars under both Bush and Obama. As America devolves into a police state, well-informed people are seeking safe havens. The FSP offers a proven strategy for individuals who are looking for more liberty within a community of like-minded people.”
Today is the 10th anniversary of the Free State Project's first mover! Since then, more than 1,400 liberty lovers have moved to the Live Free or Die state in search of more Liberty in Our Lifetime. Over the past decade, the FSP has gone from strength to strength, and we stand at the cusp of great things. The sign up rate is accelerating. More movers arrive weekly. As we prepare to Trigger the Move and welcome the next influx of activists, local participants are building liberty friendly institutions and infrastructures. What are you waiting for? The time is nigh. Nigh, I say! Join a growing community of liberty lovers for your best chance at more freedom, and fun!
Recorded at the Finger Lakes Freedom Festival in upstate New York, soon-to-be mover James Davis explains the gist of the Free State Project. If you have a burning desire for more liberty in your lifetime, SIGN THE PLEDGE! This is a great example of how you can get involved before actually moving to New Hampshire. James took it upon himself to gather materials, reserve a table and organize volunteers to help him for the weekend. Another liberty activist from New York recorded this video and uploaded it to Youtube. Do you have events like this near you? What can you do to help spread the word? Volunteer. Ready to move now? No reason to wait. Thousands have already made the move! Not ready yet? Don't just sit on the sidelines, take initiative like James, be creative, and get in the fight!
On Monday, September 9, 2013, the City Council of Concord approved the grant application to receive a Ballistic Engineered Armored Counter Attack Truck.
The 11-4 vote defied the will of the community, ignoring the more than 1,500 petition signatures collected by individual activists, the 50 people who testified against it, and the many, many Letters to the Editor, articles, and editorials against the BEARCAT. The City chose instead to side with the police chief and the 4 people who testified in support of the attack truck.
At Freedom Fest in July 2013, NH State Representative, Mark Warden, who is a Free State Project participant, small business owner and Realtor, was interviewed for the Future Money Trends blog. Says Warden: "The Free State Project is an amazing idea and concept that is just now coming to life." You can read the transcript and watch the full interview here.
Copied below is the speech Free State Project president, Carla Gericke, gave before a packed room at the Concord City Council meeting on August 12. 2013. More than 200 individuals showed up to testify against Concord receiving a BEARCAT attack vehicle. Due to the large number of people who wanted to speak, speeches were limited to one minute, but several people yielded their time to allow Carla to finish her testimony, which ended up running about 6 minutes to the Chief of Police, John Duval's thirty. She added some off-the-cuff comments in rebuttal to Duval's testimony that do not appear in the script below. The Council, in a 8-4 vote, decided to table the matter until September. Stay tuned for more details.
We, the people, are not the enemy. Free Staters--productive people moving to New Hampshire because of the shared values with our neighbors of small government and more personal responsibility--are not terrorists. We do not pose “daily challenges” to the City of Concord--in fact, I volunteer for Concord Reads at the Concord public library!
"’The Free State movement and Occupy New Hampshire have no history of violence, so it's very unclear why any police department would need to use an armored vehicle when addressing these groups," says Devon Chaffee, executive director of the NHCLU. ‘But we all agree that we want the police and we want our communities to be safe, and what this conversation is about is really what type of equipment and tactics are most appropriate to achieve that goal.
Dear Mayor Bouley,
As a concerned resident of New Hampshire, I am writing today about assertions I’ve heard that only Concord residents will have the right to speak at the City Council’s BEARCAT hearing on Monday, August 12, 2013.
In a Concord Monitor article, you said: “I clearly appreciate everyone’s input, but I always will put the interest of the Concord residents first, and I have not heard from many Concord residents.”
There are several reasons why more than just Concord residents should be heard, and should have standing to testify on whether it is a good idea to get another Ballistic Engineered Armored Response Counter Attack vehicle in one of the safest communities in America.
