As Bastiat said:
I did what was necessary tonight.
I signed my pledge to join the Free State Project.
After having put up with the economic and other various depredations of the state of Wisconsin, I had no other choice.
But what scares me is this: I've a liberal arts degree (in English). I need to find a well-paying job before I move.
We bumped our plans up by 1 year and are coming up to New Hampshire this weekend to look around. We have a hotel in Concord Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and lunch planned with Seth from Freestateproject.org. We are looking forward to our trip and (if our home sells soon) our move this summer.
July 31st 2009 is the 200th anniversary of John Starks famous speach. This sounds like a great opportunity for a party.
In regard to the Budget, I cannot recall an instance of any politician ever looking America in the eye and lying about such a momentous issue as Obama’s pledge to never sign a bill with earmarks and then agreeing to sign a budget with 9000 earmarks. Earmarks (aka pork) are precisely what has bankrupted this country.
Brian Wright typically posts a diary of the Free State Porcfests and Liberty Forums he attends. This one starts out with some entertainment value (are these guys SWAT or just your run-of-the-mill Darth Vader wannabe dimwit popos?) From bw's "in transit" day (along the New York thruway I-90):
Just a quick entry. My name is Michael. I just came back from NH to attend the Liberty Forum. It was awesome. I recorded several of the speeches and if you didn't attend I encourage you to check them out.
